Film Screening
Glasgow Girls
Thursday 25th October, 6.30pm - 8.30pm
Presented by The GAP Arts Project and Classless Society Cinema in solidarity with the Stansted Defendants currently on trial for their non-violent direct action to stop a deportation flight.
'Glasgow Girls' tells the true story of a group of school girls who in 2005, when their friends faced detention and deportation, mobilised their community to fight for the rights of asylum seekers, inspiring a movement which would eventually help change immigration practices in Scotland.
Before and after the screening you will have the opportunity to view our current exhibition, Children in Movement, which presents the photographic portraits and oral testimonies of people who migrated to Birmingham when they were young, from all over the world over the past 80 years. See link for more details - www.thegapartsproject.co.uk/children-in-movement-exhibit
Food provided by the The Real Junk Food Project Birmingham for a pay as you feel donation.
